The Raven Lodge A.F.& A.M. is hosting thier annual Chili Dinner and cook-off Fundraiser Saturday, February 11th from 11a.m. to 4 p.m at 71 Main Street, Oswego, IL.  

 

This fundraiser will be Benefiting Kendall County Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS). Kendall County  PADS is dedicated to providing temporary, safe shelter and nourishing food to the men, women and children within Kendall County who are homless or in need.

 

Come join us to sample some great homemade chili!

 

Enter your own chili for $5 dollars and join us for some friendly competition, good times and helping a great cause!  (Please drop off a crockpot full of chili by 11:00am for judging.)

 

You can also bring in a crockpot of your favorite chili for everyone to enjoy without being judged.

 

The cost for dinner is $7.00 for adults, $20.00 per family (Limit 5) and $4.00 kids 15 and younger.

THE CHIEF SHABBONA TRAIL Hike

 

 

One MAY 5th , 2012 all Boy Scouts and Scouters ages 11 and up will be able to participate in a 16 mile hike on the Chief Shabbona Trail.  The hike begins between 7-9 am at Channahon State Park and ends at Gebhard Woods in Morris. You will learn about a local Indian hero, the I&M canal and have FUN and earn a patch.  The cost is $5.00 per hiker.

 

 

To earn the official patch, you must start the hike at Channahon State Park, visit the gravesite of Chief Shabbona, answer the questions on the Trail Credential Sheet. and finish the hike at Gebhard Woods in Morris.

 

 

The SHABBONA Boy Scout Booklet is general information about the history of the trail as well as Chief Shabbona himself. There is also a map of the trail inside.
